Goldfuss update (1/29/2012)

Dear Prayer Partners,

Praise the LORD that the He sent many to hear God’s Word today! We were full! It was such a blessing to hear that many voices. It was truly uplifting and God honoring!! We had to use children’s chairs so that all of the adults could have the big chairs. We probably had between 70–75 people!!! Pray that this problem continues!!!!

Prayer list

  1. Visitors: Sergio,Clara, and Clara’s cousin, Eduardo. Clara came last week, then brought her husband to prayer meeting—and then this Sunday—brought her cousin!
  2. Four middle-aged couples to be faithful every week. They were all here today: Luis and Claudia, Erasmo and Matilde, Nico and Lilli were here after she fell and required 18 stitches. The people really helped them with food and encouragement; Miguel and Marta: their trend has been to come about a month after she has had a serious health crisis—and then to stop until another health crisis occurs. Pray for genuine conversions in several of these couples.
  3. Those who were not here: Marbella and 4 children. Her husband Miguel gives resistance to their coming; Silvia—having health tests done. Is improving with continual upper respiratory problems; Miguel and Alondra live three hours away and there is no church nearby. Difficult for them to come; Gloria—an elderly lady who is blind from diabetic complications.
  4. Men who desire to preach, teach, and lead—Beto, Nico, Gabriel, and Memo—that the Lord would protect them and preserve them.
  5. Three separate contacts that Faith has had with ladies who are either recently divorced or are having serious problems with their husbands.
  6. Dulce (basketball), Claudia(basketball), and Gloria(neighbor).
  7. Salvation needs for some who are faithfully coming each week. Pray for the Lord to open their eyes and that they would keep coming—Pedro, Luis (Karina’s brother), Sr. Pedro (Juana’s brother in law), and Fernando.
Upcoming events:

  1. February 4—teen get together that involves possibly 3 or 4 churches.
  2. February 11—Lourdes and her mother Lala are hosting a church-wide fellowship in their home. There could potentially be 60–75 people attending. Pray for stamina for them as Lourdes is in her 60s and Lala is 91!
  3. February 18—Bethany and Lauren beginning an eight-week Bible Club in our neighborhood here. This will be each Saturday morning from 10AM to noon.
Thank you so much for your prayers. We depend upon them.
Mike, Faith, and all the kids
