This prayer update was prepared by Faith last week, but I didn’t get to edit it to send it out. We’ll send this one and then another one for this week.

Dear prayer Partners,
Praises:
1. Church was full last Sunday--excellent services! Jon Crocker preached for Mike in the main service as Mike wasn’t feeling well.
2. Jon and Andrea Crocker arrived a week ago --Tuesday--with their 3 little ones. Our kids have loved having them here!
3. Tere reports that the threatened kidnapping of her 19 year old grandson is actually a blessing! Her daughter, Juli, is listening to messages and reading her Bible. Please pray for Juli's salvation-- and that this would not be just a passing feeling because of the threat.
4. The church bookstore keeps growing and getting bigger! Praise The Lord that the people are really using this opportunity to help friends and neighbors--- and themselves!
Prayer requests:
1. We have been sick. Mike, who is almost never sick, has been very weak.
2. Last week Mike had to go and get permission to take the van out of the country to sell it. (Mike is planning on doing that later this month, and this is because we are no longer able to stay in Mexico on our FM3 papers. We just became residents; therefore, we cannot use our American vehicle anymore.). Going downtown is usually an all- day trip. Mike had to go three separate days because each day, after waiting in long lines, they sent him to other places across the city to get the permission. It is very probable that each place could have given the permission. Anyway, he still needs to go back this Friday. Please pray for strength and that someone will grant us the needed permission.
3. In the meantime, the Crockers are in the same situation. Their parents are trying to sell their vehicle for them back in the States. Their prayer request is that their resident papers would go through smoothly. Pray as they find a house or apartment, furniture, and a car. Right now their biggest request is that the Lord would establish them in the right home for their family and ministry.
4. Mike is planning to go up to the border on September 23rd with Jason and Danielle Boyle. (Jason was our intern 10 years ago and he is now planting a church here in Mexico City.) Pray that the Lord will work out the details. He will return with the Boyles back to Mexico City on Saturday. When he returns, he will have to look to try to find a van for our family here. We have a promising option. Please pray for us as we remain in Mexico. While he is gone we will be car-less and worse----Mike-less. .
5. We are having a special day this Sunday the 15th! It is Mexico's Independence Day; and believe it or not, it is much bigger than Cinco de Mayo. After our worship service, we are inviting many friends and neighbors to celebrate with us. We will be eating pozole and many other traditional foods. We will also be playing Mexican games and enjoying fellowship together. Please pray that many who would not normally come to worship with us would join us on this important Mexican holiday. (I will try to send pictures in the next update.)
6. The contamination has been making several of the kids sick. Also, Cheri broke out today with what I believe is rubella--even though she has been vaccinated for this. It is wonderful that we can homeschool so that we do not get so far behind in school. The good news is that the kids are doing very well in school! It is very busy with all 6 of them. We are already almost finished with our 5th week!
Thank you again for praying!
In Christ,
Faith for all of the Goldfusses
