A Different Side of Mexico
I did have one other chance to visit Mexico, but not Mexico City. In April of 2003, five seminary students took our spring break to visit Monterrey, Mexico. We had a very specific purpose to our trip: we were studying models of theological education on the mission field. We visited four very different schools including a Christian liberal arts college, a denominational seminary, and two small, church-run Bible institutes. It was fascinating to view these institutions, to hear their leaders give their philosophy of ministry, and to talk with some of the students. I don't know that we came up with any completely unanimous conclusions, but we all definitely learned a lot.
